The NTUH Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Center is dedicated to providing expert, comprehensive care for patients with various movement disorders. Our team specializes in treating Parkinson’s disease and related conditions, including progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), multiple system atrophy (MSA), corticobasal syndrome (CBS), dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), and secondary parkinsonism caused by vascular disease or medications. We also manage essential tremor, inherited and acquired chorea, dystonia, tics, myoclonus, and other movement disorders.
Our multidisciplinary team includes specialists in neurology, neurosurgery, nuclear medicine, radiology, rehabilitation, physical therapy, genetics, and psychiatry. We provide a full range of services, from comprehensive neurological evaluations and personalized treatment plans to medication management, physical therapy, patient education, and family support. Through seminars, publications, educational materials, and support groups, we help patients and caregivers better understand these conditions and develop effective care strategies. We also offer advanced treatment options tailored to each patient’s needs, including deep brain stimulation (DBS) for Parkinson’s disease, dystonia, and tremor; focused ultrasound (FUS) for tremor-dominant Parkinson’s disease and essential tremor; and botulinum toxin (Botox) injections for dystonia.
Beyond patient care, our center is actively involved in research to improve treatments for movement disorders. Through clinical and fundamental research, we aim to develop new therapeutic strategies. Our work focuses on genetic and biomarker analysis, imaging studies, and long-term data collection, paving the way for future breakthroughs in movement disorder treatment.
